Here are some of the commonly asked questions that we recieve in regards to wedding videos and your wedding videography
Why hire a videographer?
A video conveys sights and sounds in a way still pictures cannot. Please note however that it’s not our intention to take the place of a photographer. We recommend having both, and will assist you in choosing one if desired.
How long is the completed DVD?
This varies, as each wedding is unique. It is really up to you and the progression of the day. The DVD is designed to highlight the magical moments of your day in an entertaining manner and our team of editors will edit it based on your requests and the amount of footage supplied.
What cameras do you use?
We use Sony Digital video cameras. These cameras are a bit larger than your pocket camcorder. In fact, these same cameras are used in the field by broadcasters, and for high end corporate work. You can rest assured that your video will be crisp and clean.
May I choose my own music for the video?
We encourage you to put as much input into your themes / colours and music so you get the DVD that you enjoy. We do however reserve the right to refuse explicit or racist material from the edit. Have a chat to us to get a few ideas and see where your imagination leads you.
Will light affect the video?
Yes. Videos are only tolerate of low light conditions to a point. All our videographers carry a onboard light for use, however in certian cases during excessively dark condition (ie candle light or effects light) the camera light may only do so much to assist. In these cases we will endevour to do our best to get the best shot possible.
How are the vows recorded?
We use a Sennheiser broadcast quality wireless microphone system for the recording of the vows. We endevour to get the best possible sound from the room and tools avaliable to us - this may include patching into the inhouse system or wireless microphone support. We record all wedding in 2 track mode meaing there are always 2 feeds (one microphone feed and one ambient feed) to ensure full audio coverage.
Can I choose photos for the cover art and DVD menus?
Absolutely. You may provide photographs in either digital or print form. These photos will also be used for the menus and disc label. The alternative is to use still frames from your video - which is a lower quality print.
How long before I receive the completed DVDs?
On average, allow at least 2 weeks after we recieve all the nessasary information from you. This varies somewhat, depending on the time of year, and current workload.
How do you do payment?
We require a 30% deposit to secure your date on our booking system. The balance is payable prior to you recieving your DVDs. An invoice will be made avaliable to you for the full amount at the time of inital booking (with only 30% payable) Please note that it is this payment that secures your day and as we can have multiple enquiries for each day, we will book on a first paid basis.
